Mumbai: Actress Aishwarya Raj Bhakuni, currently seen in Oh Humnava- Tum Dena Saath Mera, opens up about the role laughter plays in her daily life, and how it helps her stay grounded amid a demanding routine.
For Aishwarya, laughter isn’t just a spontaneous reaction—it’s something she consciously nurtures. “Yes, I consciously include it,” she shares. “I watch stand-up comedy, comedy videos, or films almost every day since it’s my favorite genre. Being around witty, humorous people is also a big part of my routine.” In an industry that often comes with long hours and emotional demands, she sees laughter as a necessary escape.
While many people swear by wellness trends like laughter yoga, Aishwarya prefers a more organic approach. “No, I haven’t tried laughter yoga, but I personally prefer watching comedy films or content that naturally makes me laugh,” she says, adding that genuine laughter, for her, comes from relatable and entertaining moments rather than structured practices.

She strongly believes in the healing power of laughter. “Absolutely. No matter how stressful things get, watching something funny or sharing jokes with friends instantly lightens the mood. It helps reduce stress and brings a sense of ease,” she explains. For her, these small moments of joy act as a quick reset button during hectic days. Interestingly, it doesn’t take much to make her laugh. “Simple, spontaneous humor—like a funny video or a natural, unplanned joke—can instantly make me laugh,” she says, emphasizing how everyday moments often carry the most genuine joy.
When asked about what always brings a smile to her face, Aishwarya offers a refreshingly honest perspective. “I’ve stopped relying on others to make me happy. What truly brings a smile to my face is my sense of financial independence. Earning my own money, seeing the results of my hard work, and even enjoying it through something like shopping gives me genuine happiness.”
